Where It All Began
From the time I could speak I pleaded with my parents for a horse. I was that blonde little girl begging for a pony. Finally for my 10th birthday my parents Rob and Jan Calnan gave in and purchased me a spunky old Quarter Horse named Gent.
Fast-forward to the spring of 2001 when my family purchased our first show horse, a beautiful Anglo-Arabian mare, BP Lyrica Bey+ who has since gone on to become our founding broodmare.
After multiple Regional & National Championships in the Arabian division, we realized this was no longer a gentle hobby but a full blown passion. My dad and I began breeding in 2006 and later founded Kingburne Farm after moving to the Cowichan Valley in 2011. We’re proud to be one of the few successful breeding farms on Vancouver Island. We meticulously choose our bloodlines and breed our foals at the highest industry standards. We consider ourselves to be a leader in the local market. Come by to experience Kingburne Farm for yourself!
